On January 21, at the press conference of the State Council Information Office, Wang Chunying, deputy director of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange and spokesperson, said that in 2021, under the complex and ever-changing environment, China's foreign exchange market will generally operate smoothly, and the RMB exchange rate will remain stable.

The exchange rate of China's RMB against the US dollar showed two-way fluctuations, and the exchange rate is expected to be relatively stable.

For the whole year of 2021, the spot exchange rate of the RMB against the US dollar will appreciate slightly by 2.6% on the whole, and its stability is stronger than that of the currencies of major developed countries and emerging economies.

From the perspective of the whole year, the highest rise of RMB against the US dollar is 6.35, and the lowest depreciation is 6.57. The difference between the highest point and the lowest point is about two cents.

The two-way fluctuation of exchange rate is mainly affected by the international financial environment and the supply and demand of the domestic foreign exchange market, as well as the impact of various comprehensive factors.
