In 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and implement a series of rectifications for outstanding problems through a good combination of punches and comprehensive governance, and remarkable results have been achieved.

Last year, the "Personal Information Protection Law", "Data Security Law" and other relevant laws and regulations were successively promulgated. At the same time, promote the formulation of relevant industry standards such as the "Minimum Necessary Evaluation Specification for the Collection and Use of Personal Information by APPs", which provides policy and standard guarantees for the governance of APPs.

  The second is to focus on hotspots and difficulties and strengthen special governance.

Special rectification was carried out in response to the “unable to close, random jump” of the APP screen pop-up message that users reported strongly, and major Internet companies were promoted to basically solve the relevant problems.

Especially at key time nodes such as important holidays, special inspections will be carried out on APPs focusing on people's livelihood services such as holiday travel and accommodation.

In the whole of last year, a total of 12 batches of technical sampling inspections were carried out, almost once a month, 1,549 illegal apps were notified, and 514 apps that refused to be rectified were removed from the shelves.

  The third is to strengthen the integration of technology and management, and rely on scientific and technological governance.

At present, the number of APPs on the shelves has reached millions, and it is necessary to further strengthen the construction of technical testing means.

Last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology used artificial intelligence, big data and other new technologies to greatly improve the automatic detection capabilities of the national APP technology testing platform. Last year, we organized relevant associations, convened Internet companies to hold APP personal information protection supervision meetings, and organized 16 training sessions for nearly 1,000 companies, urging companies to strengthen their awareness of red lines, continuously improve internal governance, and promote corporate compliance operations from the source.

  Fifth, improve service perception and strengthen innovation governance.
