The Statistics Center in Abu Dhabi revealed that the value of Abu Dhabi's non-oil merchandise trade during the first 10 months of 2021 amounted to 169 billion and 850 million dirhams, registering an increase of 1% compared to the same period in 2020, which recorded 168 billion and 95 million dirhams.

In a report issued yesterday, on the movement of non-oil merchandise foreign trade through the ports of Abu Dhabi, the center explained that the increase in the volume of trade is due to an increase in the value of oil exports by 2.4 percent to reach 63.4 billion dirhams during the first 10 months of 2021, compared to 61.9 billion dirhams during the period. The same from 2020, at a time when the value of re-exports increased by 6.9%, to 31.2 billion dirhams, compared to 29.2 billion dirhams, while merchandise imports witnessed a decrease of 2.2%, reaching 75.3 billion dirhams, compared to approximately 76.9 billion dirhams.

The report pointed out that the non-oil merchandise imports of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi constituted 45.5% of the volume of Abu Dhabi's trade during the first 10 months of 2021, while non-oil exports constituted 35.5% of the volume of trade, and re-exported 19%.

Industrial supplies came on top of non-oil goods in Abu Dhabi trade, with a total of 95.1 billion dirhams, followed by transport equipment with a value of 21 billion dirhams, then productive goods (excluding transportation equipment) with a value of 20 billion dirhams, then consumer goods with a value of 18.5 billion dirhams.

According to the report, Abu Dhabi's non-oil merchandise trade last October recorded 21.4 billion dirhams, compared to 16.9 billion dirhams in response during October 2020, with a growth of 26.6%.

Abu Dhabi trade in October 2021 is the highest in more than 22 months.

The report stated that 10 trading partners of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, led by Saudi Arabia, then China and France, contributed 71% of the emirate's trade.
