The ten richest men in the world earn 15,000 dollars every second and own more than 99 percent of the planet's population!

The wealth of the world's ten richest men more than doubled, from an estimated $700 billion to $1.5 trillion - at a rate of $15,000 per second or $1.3 billion per day - during the first two years of the pandemic, which saw the income of 99 per cent of humanity and pushed more than 160 million more people into poverty.

Gabriella Bouchet, executive director of Oxfam, said: “If these 10 men lost 99.999 percent of their wealth tomorrow, they would still be richer than 99 percent of all the people on this planet.

Thus, the wealth they currently own is six times greater than that of the poorest 3.1 billion people.”

In a new report, Oxfam found that inequality contributes to at least 21,000 deaths per day, or one person every four seconds.

These figures are based on deaths globally due to lack of access to health care, gender-based violence, hunger and climate breakdown.
