Moncloa Negotiation ignores Cs with the labor reform and bets everything on Yolanda Díaz's negotiation with the nationalists
The CEOE is clear that the agreement reached last December for the labor reform after nine months of negotiations with the unions and the Government is the maximum commitment it can assume and is not willing to reopen talks so that the Government expands its parliamentary support.
The employers' association chaired by
Antonio Garamendi
held a board of directors this Wednesday in the midst of a constant approach by the Government for the reopening of the agreement reached in December. The Executive fears that the parliamentary processing of the labor reform decree will be a failure at the beginning of February if it does not agree concessions with its partners from the PNV, ERC or Bildu, whose votes are essential. But CEOE has ratified its positions unanimously. "If a comma of the agreement is changed, we will consider not sitting down to negotiate again and not continuing in the social dialogue", indicate employer sources.
The agreement reached in December has already strained to the extreme the different opinions of businessmen.
The ratification of the labor reform meant support for Garamendi.
No one opposed it, but some of the associations that make up CEOE, such as Anfac, Foment del Treball, CEIM or COAG, abstained, avoiding explicitly supporting the agreement.
The PP's announcement that it will vote against the agreement signed by Garamendi, who must stand for re-election as president of the employers' association, also adds a large dose of pressure.
For this reason, within the organization it is unanimously rejected to reopen the talks and admit a single change.
The only party that has so far offered to facilitate the validation of the reform decree is Ciudadanos.
However, Moncloa has ruled out this option, which the ministers of United We Can reject outright, and has entrusted everything to the negotiation that Vice President
Yolanda Díaz
has opened with the nationalist parties.
Until now, only the PNV has shown signs of being able to support the labor reform.
Neither ERC nor EH Bildu are willing to give their support in the terms in which it was signed with the employers and the unions and demand changes.
The deadline is the first days of February and the Government still does not have the necessary votes.
