Central Bank: annual inflation in Russia in December remained at the level of November and amounted to 8.4%

“In December 2021, annual inflation remained at the level of November (8.4%).

Inflation accelerated by 3.5 p.p. in 2021 due to higher prices for a wide range of goods and services.

In December, the monthly rate of price growth for many items in the consumer basket (seasonally adjusted) slowed down after accelerating in October-November.

Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs supported the amendments on the indexation of pensions by 8.6% in 2022.

The Ministry of Finance of Russia reported that additional costs for the indexation of citizens' pensions in 2022 will amount to 172.7 billion rubles.
