H.I.S., a major travel company, has included measures to stimulate tourism demand and prevent recurrence, such as strengthening the management system of its subsidiaries, regarding the problem of illegally receiving "Go To Travel" benefits. However, I submitted an improvement report to the Japan Tourism Agency on the 18th.

Regarding the problem that H.I.S.'s subsidiaries "Miki Tourist" and "Japan Holiday Label" were illegally receiving Go To Travel benefits even though there was no actual accommodation. According to a survey conducted by the Japan Tourism Agency, it has become clear that the maximum amount of fraudulent application for benefits is more than 1,141 million yen.

On the 18th, the parent company H.I.S. submitted an improvement report to the Japan Tourism Agency, which summarizes the causes of fraudulent receipts and measures to prevent recurrence, based on the recommendations of the investigation committee established in-house.

According to this, there was a lack of opportunities to communicate with the proper officers of the subsidiary regarding the cause of the fraud, and the scope of application of the whistleblowing system and the lack of awareness to employees were mentioned.

Then, as a measure to prevent recurrence, the management rules of the subsidiary are reviewed and a reporting obligation is imposed on transactions exceeding a certain amount, interviews are held with the management of each subsidiary company, and compliance awareness is confirmed. The management system will be strengthened.

The Japan Tourism Agency will continue to request detailed factual reports and will continue to consider criminal charges.
