With the spread of telework in companies, the IT industry is beginning to remove restrictions on where to live so that you can work anywhere in the country.

The aim is to increase the degree of freedom in working styles and lead to the acquisition of excellent human resources.

Since September of last year, Mercari, which is based on the principle of telework, has set up a system for about 1800 employees, where they can freely choose where they live and work in Japan.

It means that there are employees who live and work locally or move to rural areas such as Hokkaido.

A 30-year-old employee who works in his hometown of Osaka says, "It's attractive to be able to work while cherishing your private life without giving up on the job you want to do. I like the environment where my family is close."

Also, from April, Yahoo will remove the conditions regarding the place of residence and change the system so that you can work anywhere in Japan.

If you go to work, you will be allowed to use an airplane, and you will be subsidized for transportation expenses up to 150,000 yen a month. In addition, you will have more space for meetings to revitalize your workplace.

Takayasu Yukawa, executive officer, said, "We can contact good human resources and lead to the acquisition of human resources. We want you to maximize your work performance."

NTT also has a policy of eliminating transfers on the premise of telework, and there is a movement to increase the degree of freedom in working styles, motivate employees, and lead to the acquisition of excellent human resources.
