Since November last year, more than 8.3 million tons of materials to ensure the supply and livelihood of the people have been transported over the dam in time.
The Three Gorges Hub is located in an important location where the main line of the Yangtze River connects the east and the west. It is an important passage through the Yangtze River logistics. Every year, a large number of materials and products pass through the Three Gorges Hub and circulate among the central, eastern and western regions.
Continuing to establish a "green channel" to allow ships carrying coal, diesel, aviation kerosene, fresh agricultural products and other key urgent materials to pass through the Three Gorges Dam in a timely manner is a measure for the Three Gorges Hub to implement the green channel management system for navigation and ensure the supply of key materials .
It was a heavy winter, frequent windy and foggy weather in the waters of the Three Gorges, coupled with the limited navigable water level conditions of the Gezhouba Sanjiang Approach Channel during the dry season, the situation of ships waiting for locks was relatively tense.
In order to ensure the timely and safe passage of key materials through the Three Gorges Dam, the Three Gorges River Basin Management Center cooperated closely with the navigation department, actively communicated with local enterprises, understood the inventory situation, scientifically judged the transportation status of key materials through the dam, and integrated resources.
Vessels carrying key materials shall apply to the Yangtze River Navigation Administration of the Ministry of Transport for priority crossing the dam in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
The Three Gorges General Administration of Navigation has implemented priority security inspection and priority passage for the whole ship of fresh cargo ships and key urgent cargo ships to ensure seamless connection and smooth travel all the way.
According to statistics, from November 2021 to January 9, 2022, more than 8.3 million tons of key materials such as coal, diesel, aviation kerosene, containers, grain and cotton, edible oil, vegetables and fruits will be transported through the Three Gorges Hub, a year-on-year increase of 20%. Coal, diesel and aviation kerosene exceeded 3.5 million tons.
