Prices in Spain shot up 6.5%

in the month of

December

, a record for the last thirty years but two tenths less than what the National Institute of Statistics (INE) had advanced when the CPI advanced at the end of the year, according to This body has confirmed this Friday.

This already confirmed data means that

prices advanced by an average of 3.08% in 2021.

The

core inflation rate

-without taking into account food and energy products because they are more volatile- did rise

2.1% that month,

in line with what had been advanced.

With this correction made by the INE this Friday, the

monthly variation

rate of prices in December was

1.2%,

below the 1.3% that had been reported.
