On the 13th, a competition for the performance of "Hoshi Imo", a specialty of Ibaraki Prefecture, is being held in Hitachinaka City for the first time in two years.

This competition was held by a council made up of producers from Hitachinaka City, Tokai Village, and Naka City, which are particularly active in producing what they want in Ibaraki Prefecture.

It was canceled last year due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and 43 producers exhibited 62 wishes at the competition for the first time in two years.

In the judging, each variety is evaluated on a scale of 10 for each of the three items of "taste," "appearance," and "texture," and the one with the highest total score is awarded the gold, silver, and bronze awards.

Representatives of producers, distributors, and publicly recruited citizens acted as judges, and scored points by carefully assessing the color and luster of the items that were put up for sale.

The show will be held at the antenna shop in Ibaraki prefecture in Tokyo on the 14th, and the results will be announced on the council's website on the 17th of this month.

Fumihiro Kurosawa, chairman of the council, said, "Because of the improvement of producers' skills and the cold weather this winter, I was able to make sweet and high-quality products. I am working hard to deliver something that people can eat with peace of mind. I want you to eat a lot. "
