In the past five years, the number of newly registered new energy vehicles has grown rapidly from 650,000 in 2017 to 2.95 million in 2021.

  In 2021, the number of motor vehicle drivers nationwide will reach 481 million, of which 444 million are car drivers, accounting for 92.24% of the total number of drivers.

In 2021, the number of newly licensed drivers (with driving experience less than one year) nationwide will reach 27.5 million, accounting for 5.72% of the total number of motor vehicle drivers in the country, an increase of 5.19 million or 23.25% over 2020.

In terms of gender of drivers, there were 319 million male drivers, accounting for 66.32%; 162 million female drivers, accounting for 33.68%.

In terms of driver age, there are 340 million drivers aged 26 to 50, accounting for 70.71%; 69.66 million drivers aged 51 to 60, accounting for 14.48%.
