Luxi Township, Dongtou, on the island, is located at the mouth of the Oujiang River, where salt water and fresh water converge, with sufficient bait. It has always been a natural fishing ground for large yellow croaker to migrate and breed.
The yellow croaker cultivated in the deep sea of Luxi Township is healthy in shape, golden in color and delicious in taste.

In 2013, Dongtou began to promote the Luxi Ecological Marine Aquaculture Yellow Croaker Project. It is not easy for yellow croaker to "settle" in Luxi Island. Different from traditional yellow croaker farming, Zheng Xiangwu took the risk of choosing the breeding area in the deep-sea area of Luxi Island with high waves and rapid water. If he is not careful, he will suffer heavy losses.

"The first time we farmed large yellow croaker, we had no experience. We chose the sea area outside Luxi Port. Although the water there is good, the habit of yellow croaker is not suitable for the sea area where the water flow is more than eight meters per second." Zheng Xiangwu said, No. After the failure of the first phase of seedling cultivation, he continued to look for a suitable location for deep-water cultivation of yellow croaker near Luxi Island.
After groping again and again, Zheng Xiangwu has now established three deep-sea aquaculture fish farms including the Dashanyu Breeding Base of Yellow Fish Island, with a total of 56 deep-water cages against wind and waves.
Among them, the largest deep-water cage has a circumference of 384 meters, a diameter of 122 meters, and a single-port surrounding water body of 110,000 cubic meters. According to the calculation of cultivating 3 yellow croakers per cubic meter, one deep-water cage can raise 300,000 yellow croakers.
Yellow croaker has successfully settled at sea, but Zheng Xiangwu's goal is far more than that. He began to think about how to carry out deep-water aquaculture of yellow croaker scientifically, digitally and intelligently.

"We have built a central control tower in the 'smart fish farm', and you can remotely monitor water temperature, water flow, dissolved oxygen, and fish activities, including typhoon attacks, from the office," said Zheng Xiangwu.
Today, Zheng Xiangwu has set up the whole industry chain of yellow croaker, from breeding and fresh sales, to the production of secondary processed products such as yellow croaker fish balls, yellow croaker fish cakes, and salted fresh yellow croaker, and then to opening specialty stores, hotels, noodle restaurants, etc. With the improvement of the brand benefit of yellow croaker in Luxi Island, nearly 100 fishermen on the island who "washed their feet ashore" began to take up positions related to the yellow croaker industry.
Zhang Zhufeng, a fisherman, cherishes the job at his doorstep very much. He said: "I can't bear to go fishing at this age. I work in yellow croaker-related industries at my doorstep. I can earn more than 100,000 yuan a year, and my family is very happy."
The yellow croaker industry has also prospered the development of tourism on the island of Luxi Island. The integrated development of fishing and tourism has allowed tourists from all over the world to visit the island one after another to taste the fresh yellow croaker feast and experience the island's fisherman style.
"Many people came to Luxi Island for the yellow croaker, which made the business of the restaurant industry on the island hot. The yellow croaker is really the 'fish to get rich'," said Zhang Quanmeng, a restaurant owner in Luxi Township.
