Among them, general trade grew the fastest, with an increase of 20% in the first 11 months; the proportion of the import and export volume of private enterprises in foreign trade increased to 56.6%, ranking firmly as the largest foreign trade operator in Guangdong.

Since last year, the global new crown pneumonia epidemic has been raging, and the economic and trade environment has been extremely complicated. Guangdong's foreign trade still shows strong resilience.

According to Zhang Jinsong, director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, this is not only because Guangdong's foreign trade enterprises and market economy are full of vitality and have a strong ability to resist risks, but also because Guangdong seizes opportunities to vigorously develop new trade formats, and new momentum for foreign trade development is gradually developed. form.

Looking at all parts of Guangdong, emerging trade formats represented by cross-border e-commerce are booming.

In Foshan, since 2021, more than 30,000 companies have sold domestic products to all over the world through Taobao and Tmall, and the number of export orders has increased by 70%; since Dongguan, the "world factory", was approved as a national cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone, the number of Huge small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises have enjoyed policy dividends, and the cumulative import and export volume of cross-border e-commerce has exceeded 100 billion yuan; in Guangzhou, the "millennium commercial capital", Baiyun Airport Port relies on e-commerce online shopping for bonded imports, direct purchase imports, B2B exports, etc. Flexible And the rich cross-border e-commerce business model leads the country's airport ports...

Taking cross-border e-commerce and other business innovations as a breakthrough, in recent years, Guangdong's trade structure has been continuously optimized.

Zhang Jinsong previously introduced that 13 cities in Guangdong have been approved to set up cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones, promoting the vigorous development of cross-border e-commerce through institutional innovation, management innovation, and service innovation.

From 2016 to 2020, Guangdong's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume increased from 22.796 billion yuan to 172.646 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 65.9%, ranking first in the country for seven consecutive years.

Driven by new business forms and new driving forces, Guangdong's foreign trade structure has achieved a significant transformation. The proportion of general trade and private enterprises' import and export both exceeded 50%, and the import and export of high-tech products accounted for over 40%; the market layout was more optimized, and international trade competition Strength steadily increased.

Affected by the epidemic, new formats such as cross-border e-commerce have become an important trend in the development of international trade.

In July 2021, the "Opinions on Accelerating the Development of New Formats and New Models of Foreign Trade" issued by the state clearly pointed out that cross-border e-commerce is currently the fastest growing new foreign trade format with the greatest potential and the strongest driving effect.

Experts believe that emerging trade formats such as cross-border e-commerce have greatly lowered the threshold for small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in international trade, and stimulated the enthusiasm of foreign trade enterprises to expand overseas markets.

In Guangdong, about 68% of the country's cross-border e-commerce related enterprises are gathered.

Guangdong has adopted a series of extraordinary measures to promote the development of cross-border e-commerce.

In March 2021, Guangdong launched the implementation of the "Ten Projects for High-quality Trade Development", taking the new trade format project as an important starting point to seize the commanding heights of development, and proposed to promote the scale of new formats such as cross-border e-commerce and market procurement trade to double in five years.

Not long ago, the Guangdong Provincial Government issued the "Several Policies and Measures on Promoting the High-quality Development of Cross-border E-commerce", and launched ten powerful measures, from cultivating leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises, building cross-border e-commerce industrial parks, and improving warehousing. Logistics efficiency, support for overseas warehouse construction, taxation, finance, talent support, etc. will comprehensively make efforts to promote the quality and expansion of cross-border e-commerce.

Under the epidemic, export logistics obstruction has become a pain point for Guangdong manufacturing to "sell the world", and supporting enterprises to deploy overseas warehouses has become another highlight of this new cross-border e-commerce policy.

Due to its early establishment of overseas warehouses, Guangdong Lianyu Logistics Co., Ltd. was favored by many cross-border e-commerce companies during the epidemic, and became the first logistics company to provide time-limited compensation.

"The company has built 3 overseas warehouses in the United States and Japan, and has initially built a cross-border e-commerce export supply system, which has greatly improved the logistics speed." said Fan Gang, vice president of the company.

For the move of Lianyu Logistics to set up overseas warehouses, Dongguan has provided support and incentives in terms of funds and policies.

Data shows that currently, Dongguan companies have more than 35 overseas warehouses in 10 countries and regions including Europe and the United States, allowing "Made in Dongguan" to quickly reach overseas consumers.

Guangdong's new policy clearly supports the construction of overseas warehouses for cross-border e-commerce, encourages enterprises to build overseas warehouses in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" and RCEP member countries, and expands the layout of overseas warehouses in the European and American markets; supports overseas warehouse companies to develop intelligent warehousing technology, expand Air cargo business.

By 2025, Guangdong will strive to build 500 overseas warehouses with a total area of more than 4 million square meters, and gradually form a professional and intelligent overseas warehouse network.

It is understood that Guangdong will continue to promote the new trade format project, strive for the full coverage of the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot area, further release the new momentum of foreign trade, and explore more "Guangdong experience" for the innovative development of foreign trade.
