The announcement came on the eve of the anniversary of
the Ukrainian Airlines Boeing crash
when a Canadian court ordered the payment of 74 million euros to the families of six passengers on the plane.
Eight months ago, when the same tribunal concluded that Iran had committed a "terrorist" act by shooting down this airliner, Tehran
denounced this judgment
.
In its final report published last March, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization laundered its armed forces by speaking of human error.
A pending trial on responsibility for the attack
Two years ago, in retaliation for the assassination of General
Qassem Soleimani
, the head of the Al-Quds force of the Revolutionary Guards, by the Americans in Baghdad, Iran fired a dozen missiles against two American bases. in Iraq.
According to Tehran, the operator of the Iranian anti-missile system then confused the Ukrainian plane with an American missile, believing in a counterattack by the United States.
Most of the passengers were Iranians with Canadian nationality, Ukrainians, but also Swedes and British.
A few days ago, the Iranian president asked that the payment of this money be accelerated.
At the same time, a trial is taking place in Tehran on responsibility for the attack.
