McDonald's Japan, a major hamburger chain, announced that it will suspend sales of some French fries products, which had been temporarily suspended at the end of last year due to the disruption of the global distribution network, from the 9th.


The reason is that the turmoil in the distribution network has been prolonged.

According to the announcement, McDonald's Japan will suspend sales of French fries M size and L size at all stores of about 2900 nationwide for about 9 days to 1 month, and will limit sales to S size only.



As for the reason, the company continues to be affected by the disruption of the global distribution network due to the corona disaster, such as a shortage of containers, and the large-scale flood damage that occurred near the port of Canada, which is the transit point for shipping services. It is said that the import of processed potatoes, which are the raw material, has been delayed due to bad weather on the route.



The company suspended sales of some french fries nationwide for a week late last month, but was forced to suspend sales again as the effects of the global distribution network disruption prolonged. It is a shape.



McDonald's Japan commented, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers. We will do our utmost to ensure stable procurement of raw materials so that regular sales can be resumed as soon as possible."
