At Mizuho Bank, on the 30th of last month, due to an incorrect system setting for night / holiday processing, a problem occurred in ATM and Internet banking that temporarily made it impossible to transfer money to other banks, and some transfers were made. There was an effect of being delayed after the next day.

Regarding this problem, the Financial Services Agency has issued an order requesting the bank and its parent company Mizuho Financial Group to report measures to prevent recurrence based on the law.

Regarding this, Minister of State for Financial Services Suzuki said at a press conference after the Cabinet meeting on the 7th, "It is regrettable that repeated system failures occurred in banks, which are important infrastructure, and hindered the provision of financial services. ".

After that, he said, "It is important to have a strong sense of crisis, to respond politely to customers and to thoroughly prevent recurrence," and expressed his intention to supervise Mizuho's response.

Mizuho has suffered a series of system failures eight times last year, and the Financial Services Agency has issued a business improvement order, requesting that an improvement plan be submitted by the 17th of this month.
