Officials of gold and jewelry trade outlets stated that the markets have recently witnessed limited rates of decline in demand for gold jewelry, especially from residents, compared to the turnout during the festive season, pointing out that the turnout of tourist groups to buy gifts supports the sales of gold and jewelry stores in large proportions recently.

They pointed out to "Emirates Today" that the impact of the recent price decline for gold was very limited in the markets, adding that the most prominent factor in the markets currently is the sales of tourists in keeping with the great popularity that the country is witnessing.

In turn, the sales manager at Diamond Jewelery, Dilip Soni, said, "The turnout of tourist groups was supported by indicators of demand during the recent period for sales of gold and jewelry, while the markets witnessed a limited decline compared to the New Year's holiday period, or during Christmas celebrations." .

He added that "the popularity of the country's markets, especially Dubai, in attracting tourists of different nationalities during the winter season, or on the occasion of the (Expo 2020 Dubai) exhibition, was positively reflected in sales support."

For his part, the director of the "Dahkan Jewelery" company, Jay Dehkan, explained that "sales decreased by limited rates after the festive season, but the turnout rates are still continuing, because some dealers are still buying New Year's gifts, and at lower rates than previous periods."

He pointed out that "tourist groups finally accounted for the largest shares of sales, with the support of the increased activity of tourist groups in the Dubai markets during the recent period, at rates exceeding the past two years, whether during the height of the pandemic or even before the pandemic."

And the director of “Rikesh Jewelery” company, Rickish Dahnak, considered that “the limited decline in the sales of handicrafts is due to factors related to the failure of gold prices to record stimulating declines during the recent period, while the markets are now witnessing rates of demand for gifts related to some dealers who prefer to buy New Year gifts during the period. current.”

He added, "Tourist sales are currently the main supporter of transactions in gold and handicraft stores, at rates exceeding pre-pandemic levels for periods of time similar to the beginning of the new Gregorian year," referring to the "Expo 2020 Dubai" and attracting more tourists.
