The pandemic has prompted individuals to refocus on their territory, and even more to support it.

While the national economy has been severely tested by the health crisis, the enthusiasm already observed for several years for made in France has exploded.

We can no longer count the polls plebisciting French know-how and initiatives promoting local businesses.

Not to mention that with the approach of the presidential election, the theme becomes a major issue, as evidenced by the parade of candidates at the Made in France fair, which took place in Paris in mid-November.

A priority for the campaign

More recently, an OpinionWay study carried out on behalf of the French furniture company Gautier confirmed this idea.

According to this survey, 90% of those questioned expect the candidates for the presidency of the Republic to take into account the industrial difficulties encountered in France during the health crisis.

In addition, 86% believe that

made in

France should be at the heart of the countryside and 89% that the priority is to promote the relocation of industries.

A strong will

If the French purchase is already developed for food - fruits, vegetables and meats can easily be bought from French producers and even local -, it remains more complicated when we talk about equipment, so usual international brands is firmly established.

But nothing is inevitable.

As proof, 85% of those polled by OpinionWay would like to know better the brands that manufacture furniture made in France, while 68% claim to want to favor French manufacturing in their future furniture purchases since the Covid-19 crisis.

Unsurprisingly, the arguments remain support for the local economic fabric (65%), the choice of quality products (48%) and the desire to reduce its carbon footprint (42%).

The youngest would also be the most prescribers of Made in France, since 64% of 18-24 say they insist on these purchases within their family, against 54% who say that it is their parents.
