Following Osstem Implant, which was known for embezzling 188 billion won yesterday (3rd), today a company called Edison EV caused a stir in the stock market. The company's stock price jumped dozens of times in a year just because it took over Ssangyong Motor, but it has plummeted more than 18% in just one day. It was confirmed that there were several negative signals about the takeover of Ssangyong Motor, and that many of the company's major shareholders liquidated their stock. Supervisors are looking into state-related unfair practices.

This is reporter Kim Jung-woo's report.

<Reporter> The

stock price of Edison EV plunged 18.56% from the previous day.

As doubts grew over the company's ability to acquire Ssangyong Motor, investors sold out a lot of stock.

When the company announced in June last year that it was merging with Edison Motors, which had announced its intention to acquire Ssangyong Motor, its share price soared for a moment.

However, it was recently revealed that five investment associations had acquired more than 34% of the stock around that time, and then liquidated about two-thirds of them two months later.

The Korea Exchange said it was closely monitoring whether there were any unfair trade practices in the stock disposal process.

They are looking to see if undisclosed information has been used or if there has been a so-called price manipulation.

It also had a negative impact on the fact that a private equity fund, which had been reducing funds in the Ssangyong Motor takeover, is known to have withdrawn its investment plan.

[Pilsu Kim/Professor, Department of Future Automobile, Daelim University: The story of falling out of that (private equity) fund means that the financial line is cut off.

It's because they don't have any of their own money, so they take other people's stuff and use it as collateral.]

Edison EV has to pay a down payment of 30 billion won by the 10th to start the Ssangyong takeover process. It is known that there are not many.
