Employees have expressed their concerns to Europe 1.

It is a French company that is almost a hundred years old (founded in 1928), a brand that has become a word used in everyday language: will the Caddie company disappear?

Faced with serious financial difficulties, it was in any case placed in bankruptcy.

The blow is obviously harsh for employees, who have seen their business wither for years.

At the cigarette break, most are annoyed.

They are still 142 working on the site and most learned yesterday morning, on their return to work, that their company was now in insolvency.

"What are we going to do with our future?"

"I've been working here for 29 years. Disgusted ...", says one of them.

"Caddy, it's still a fame, I really care it's true. The job is correct, we try to do our best. What are we going to do with our future?" asks another.

Caddy has already been placed twice in receivership in 2012 and 2014. Many employees have pointed the finger at mismanagement for too long.

For President Stéphane Dedieu, it is a combination of problems that has dealt a fatal blow to his business.

“Caddy's first difficulties came about through succession problems. The people who owned it at the time had no international strategy. What is happening to us is different: the Covid has completely upset our company. More than 70% of our turnover comes from exports, so there are a lot of projects that were no longer carried out. We also had material supply problems. We were already not very wealthy. in cash hence the obligation to declare our suspension of payment. "

He now hopes to attract a solid buyer.

Or, why not, transform Caddy into a SCOP: a company that would belong to its employees.
