According to media reports, the former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has accepted a job with an American investor.

He will start as a “Global Strategist” at Thiel Capital in the first quarter of 2022, confirmed the 35-year-old ex-politician of the “Kronen Zeitung” and “heute”.

The fund, which invests in large corporations, is based in Silicon Valley, California.

As the papers continue to write, Kurz can also count on one or two supervisory board positions and voluntary work in an international organization in Europe.

Billionaire Internet investor Peter Thiel is known for his conservative views and was one of the few influential supporters of ex-US President Donald Trump in Silicon Valley.

Thiel was co-founder of the online payment service Paypal and the data analysis company Palantir and investor of the social network Facebook in the early 2000s.

Kurz resigned as Federal Chancellor in October after allegations of corruption.

He and some of his closest political colleagues are said to have used taxpayers' money to commission polls to pave his way into the Chancellery.

Kurz denies the allegations.
