Opinions of parents about the application of the quarantine pass for teenagers aged 12 to 18 are mixed.

[Kim Soo-yeon/Parent: I think I'll get it right. I can't keep getting it right and I can't postpone it... .]

[Parents of elementary and middle school students: I want you to think about that a little more, in Nara. It's urgent, but we'll keep an eye on the trend and we don't know what the students will do yet.] As

protests from the industry, including students, parents, and private academies, grew stronger and spread to legal disputes, the Ministry of Education and the quarantine authorities formed a consultative body on the 20th to come up with an improvement plan. I said I would.

[Yoo Eun-hye / Deputy Prime Minister of Education: (Youth) Regarding the quarantine pass, we are discussing the period and operation plan again now... .] The

academy is arguing that it should be completely abolished, or that the application date, scheduled for February next year, should be postponed to June and applied equally to schools and academies.

The Ministry of Education is of the opinion that schools, which are compulsory educational institutions, are an exception.

After the government announced the youth quarantine pass policy, the vaccination rate has risen significantly.

Anxiety that restrictions on access to private academies, etc. may put students at a disadvantage in their studies, along with an increase in the number of inoculations among nearby students, are also believed to be the main reasons.

As of today (26th) 00:00, the vaccination rate for adolescents aged 12 to 17 was 69.3% for the first dose and 46.8% for the second dose, which increased by 21.7%p and 18.9%p, respectively, in 3 weeks.

The Ministry of Education expects that if the vaccination rate increases with this trend and the spread of the virus stops, full school attendance will be possible next year.
