Also in July, the European Commission initiated a dispute at the WTO over "discrimination against foreign suppliers by Russian state-owned companies."

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade announced on the same day that it was ready to hold consultations with the European Union and convince Brussels that the rules of public procurement in Russia did not contradict the WTO norms.
