By 2026, vehicles will have to be able to cover 64.4 km at a steady speed on one gallon (3.8 liters) of fuel, which represents an average consumption of about 6 l / 100 km.
These very low values compared to the current American average will force manufacturers in Uncle Sam's country to market hybrid models to comply with the new rule.
The big V6 and V8 will therefore gradually disappear in favor of mechanics that are more respectful of the environment.
