With the blessing of the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", wind power set sail.

It is inevitable that my country's wind power development center will shift to the south of the Middle East, and decentralized development will become one of the main models in the future.

On December 16, with the completion of the main offshore wind power project with the largest single scale and highest latitude in the northern region, Huaneng Group Dalian Zhuanghe Offshore Wind Farm entered the grid-connected commissioning stage. After the overall commissioning, the annual power generation is expected to be approximately 960 million kWh. , Which can meet the annual electricity demand of 960,000 households.

Compared with a thermal power plant of the same scale, this wind farm constructed by the China Railway Construction Port and Shipping Bureau and the East China Institute of China Power Construction can save 300,000 tons of standard coal and reduce 660,000 tons of pollutant emissions.

"Carbon" is a common chemical element, and "wind" is a natural phenomenon we are used to. Who would have thought that "carbon" can also bring "wind" into fire!

With the support of the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", wind power has set sail and has become another high-potential track after photovoltaics in the context of carbon neutrality.

According to data from Tianyan Check, there are currently nearly 41,000 wind power companies in my country.

Since the beginning of this year, the number of registered wind power-related companies has exceeded 8,800, a year-on-year increase of 40.1%.

"Big windmills" stand on the top of the hill and whirl in the wind

On December 19th, the reporter came to the site of the Huishanping Wind Power Project in Fengdu County, Chongqing, and saw tall and majestic windmills whirling in the wind, standing on the peaks of the Qiyao Mountains. Green electricity is being sent to thousands of people through the grid from here. Household.

Qin Guolin, head of Fengdu County Development and Reform Commission, told reporters that the county’s wind power projects are the districts and counties with the most installed capacity in Chongqing. The total investment of completed grid-connected power generation projects is 2.9 billion yuan, with a total installed capacity of 350,000 kilowatts and an annual power generation capacity of 700 million kilowatts. Around the time, the annual sales revenue exceeded 400 million yuan.

Chongqing, which is severely short of coal, is particularly fond of wind power. So far, dozens of wind power projects have been built. This year alone, 18 wind power projects are planned to be constructed, with a cumulative installed capacity of 1881MW.

In neighboring Sichuan Province, on December 14, 17 wind power projects were approved in one go, with a total scale of 1590.81MW and a total investment of 11.3 billion yuan.

During the year, Yunnan Province has approved 22 wind power projects with a total scale of 5944MW and an investment of over 39.3 billion yuan.

Under the dual-carbon goal, wind power photovoltaics, as a sustainable clean energy source, have received unprecedented attention.

After onshore wind power and offshore wind power have gradually parity, the wind power industry chain has entered a new stage of market-oriented development, and at the same time, various regions are actively promoting the landing of wind power projects.

Research institutions generally predict that before the carbon peak in 2030, the average annual growth rate of electricity consumption in my country's society will still exceed 4%.

According to the target requirements of the "Carbon Peaking Action Plan by 2030" issued by the State Council, by 2030, the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption will reach about 25%, and the total installed capacity of wind power and solar power will reach more than 1.2 billion kilowatts.

Wind power already has the strength to compete with the coal power market

At present, wind power accounts for about 13% of the country's total power supply installed capacity, and power generation accounts for about 7.5% of the total electricity consumption in the society, which is an increase of 0.3 and 1.3 percentage points respectively from the end of 2020. The contribution of wind power to the country's power supply continues to increase.

In the past 10 years, the cost of wind power + photovoltaic has dropped sharply.

Of all the newly commissioned large-scale grid-connected wind power and photovoltaic power generation capacity, 56% of the cost is lower than the cheapest fossil fuel power generation.

Data shows that China's residential electricity prices are generally between 0.3 yuan and 0.7 yuan, and there are expectations of rising in the near future.

If the cost of wind power drops to RMB 0.1, the advantages of wind power will soon become apparent.

As early as November 2017, Zhangjiakou, Hebei, began a trial of listing and trading of renewable energy power. The transaction price of wind power was 0.05 yuan/kWh, and the final wind power heating user price fell to 0.15 yuan/kWh.

This is the country's first successful example of incorporating renewable energy power into the electricity market for direct trading, which has promoted the local consumption of wind power and opened a new way.

According to expert analysis, from the transaction price, the price of 0.05 yuan/kWh is only 1/10 of the local benchmark on-grid electricity price. Wind power companies may participate in market transactions as a last resort, but for the entire industry, this is a test. It confirms that there is still a lot of room for improvement in alleviating wind curtailment and improving new energy consumption, and it also opened a breakthrough for "market electricity".

The reporter learned during the interview that the main reason for the power curtailment is that coal is too expensive. The power plant’s electricity loss of 0.1 to 0.2 yuan per kilowatt hour has led to insufficient power supply.

In the "Three North" areas with sufficient wind resources, the cost per kilowatt-hour of some wind power projects has reached about RMB 0.1/kWh.

"Such prices mean that in regions with better wind resources, they are fully capable of competing with thermal power without relying on subsidies, thus laying the foundation for parity in the wind power and photovoltaic industries." National Energy Administration of New Energy Liang Zhipeng, deputy director of the Department of Renewable Energy, said that the rapid decline in the cost of the two major clean energy sources, photovoltaics and wind power, gave China the confidence to be carbon neutral.

In order to achieve the ultimate goal of "carbon neutrality," adjustments to the energy structure are inevitable.

It is estimated that the proportion of non-aqueous renewable energy power generation is expected to reach 20% in 2025, and the steady growth of electricity consumption every year will force the growth of wind power generation and effectively promote the growth of installed capacity.

The explosion of demand will be more certain in the future

During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the maximum value of my country’s annual wind power and photovoltaic grid-connected data is 68.15 million kilowatts, while the "carbon neutral" expectation has reached more than 100 million kilowatts. The huge gap is clear at a glance. It is bound to face an explosive growth.

"The outbreak of wind power demand will be more certain in the future. Behind it is the strength of domestic policies and the opportunity for the industry to bottom out." Said Jiang Qian, general manager of the equity investment department of the Oriental Fund. This is due to the rapid development of wind power technology this year. The reduction of corporate costs has promoted the improvement of corporate profitability.

The rapid development of the wind power industry in recent years has largely benefited from the government’s policy encouragement and support, such as on-grid tariff protection, mandatory grid connection, tariff subsidies, and various preferential tax policies.

Qin Haiyan, secretary general of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, said that the shift of my country's wind power development center to the south of the Middle East has become an inevitable trend, and decentralized development will become one of the main models in the future.

"To truly develop decentralized wind power, it is also necessary to solve practical problems such as complex approval procedures, unclear grid access requirements, difficult financing, and more difficult land acquisition."

At present, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Henan, Hebei and other places have issued relevant documents to accelerate the development and construction of decentralized wind power. Some major power generation companies and key provinces in the central and eastern regions have also proposed clear decentralized wind power project plans.

Tian Qingjun, vice president of Envision Energy, said that there are nearly 700,000 administrative villages in China. If 300,000 administrative villages adopt distributed energy, the market space will be very large.

Therefore, the future low wind speed and distributed distribution in the east must be a very broad blue ocean market.

With the development of the "Thousands of Towns and Ten Thousand Villages Wind Control Plan", the large-scale development of decentralized wind power will open up the space for growth of wind power. The potential market space of decentralized wind power will reach 1,000 GW, and the domestic wind power industry will obviously benefit.
