Al Zeyoudi stressed that the continuous development witnessed by the country's foreign trade reflects the directions recently announced by the UAE government, to contribute to achieving new leaps in the country's commercial performance during the next stage.

He added: “Innovative initiatives and flexible government strategies play an important role in enhancing the performance of the country’s foreign trade, such as the 10×10 Export Development Program, expanding comprehensive economic agreements with a number of targeted global markets, and continuously opening new commercial markets to the country’s commercial activities. The country’s non-oil foreign trade will continue its positive performance over the next 50 years.”

Ahli indicated that the UAE topped the world in many indicators related to trade, as it ranked first in the world in the indicator of growth of exports of commercial services, and the indicator of trade balance (percentage of GDP), according to the report of the Global Competitiveness Yearbook 2021, issued by The International Institute for Management Development (IMD), as well as being a regional leader in many global competitiveness indicators related to trade.

Ahli affirmed that the mural on the growth of foreign trade over 50 years, which was erected by the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, reflects our absolute belief in the importance of documented data over 50 years in highlighting the sustainable development witnessed by the country in all vital sectors, including the foreign trade sector.

The Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics has launched an interactive digital map of the non-oil global trade data for the UAE, through which the non-oil foreign trade data is reviewed, and the details of total trade, imports, exports and re-exports during time periods that can be determined by the map user.

The data can also be specified by country or group of countries, and the volume of trade is reviewed in UAE dirhams or US dollars, to make it easier for those interested in trade figures and researchers to obtain the latest and most accurate data on the UAE's non-oil trade with the world.
