The Forestry Bureau of Guangdong Province issued the "Administrative Measures for the Identification and List Issuance of Important Wetlands in Guangdong Province" in April this year to standardize the requirements for the identification and list issuance management of important wetlands in Guangdong Province.
It is reported that important wetlands in Guangdong Province refer to wetlands in specific areas that are of great significance in ensuring regional ecological security and protecting biodiversity in the province and are protected and managed in accordance with relevant regulations.
According to reports, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town Wetland is Shenzhen’s first national wetland park. It is located on the north bank of Shenzhen Bay at the mouth of the Pearl River. It is an important transit point for the international migratory bird migration route. The wetland has a complete coastal mangrove wetland ecosystem. Black-faced spoonbills have been recorded. The Yunan River Wetland is located in Yunan County, Yunfu City. It is an important source of drinking water, water conservation forests and wildlife habitats. It has guaranteed drinking water for nearly 300,000 people in Yunan City and surrounding towns and irrigation of more than 250,000 acres of farmland , Has recorded many national and provincial key protected animals and plants such as ocelots, pythons, owls, egrets, water ferns, golden retrievers and so on.
Luoding Jinyin Lake Wetland is an important source of drinking water in Luoding City, Yunfu City, and a successful model of comprehensive soil erosion management. The total area is 335.8 hectares, of which the wetland area is 251.61 hectares. There is "Hongqi Canal in the north and Changgang slope in the south" Many national key protected species such as white pheasant and brown-winged cuckoo have been recorded.
The person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Guangdong has coordinated the management of landscape, forest, field, lake and grass system, has continuously increased the protection and restoration of wetlands, and solidly promoted the hierarchical management of wetlands.
