CCB specially launched the second season of the series report "Echoes of the Far Mountains"

The story of a new farmer who records rural revitalization

The great changes in the mountain and countryside that compose a new era!

The news from China National Broadcasting Network Jining on December 16th is off work. After a busy day, Zhou Qingqing dragged her tired body back home. The cabin she rented in Beijing was quiet and warm. Lying on the bed and watching her mobile phone is her best way to eliminate it. Tired way.

Suddenly, a harsh phone ring rang, interrupting her thoughts and pulling her back to reality.

"Hello?" Zhou Qingqing answered the phone, it was the news that her father had fallen ill.

The bad news came suddenly, Zhou Qingqing was anxious, and then fell into contemplation.

What about the family?

What about the edible fungus industry?

Do you want to stay in Beijing?

"At that time 7 years ago, life came to a fork in the road, and it was very difficult to decide where to go." Today, Zhou Qingqing still often thinks of the night of turning fortune and the life of the north drifting.

"I have to go back to take care of my family and protect the property. The moment I made the decision, I felt relieved."

After that, Zhou Qingqing, a media person, became a planter Zhou Qingqing.

When the reporter saw Zhou Qingqing for the first time, she had just arrived from the planting shed with some dirt on her body, and her plain face revealed the skill of a farmer. It was hard to think that she was a post-ninety generation.

The morel mushrooms cultivated in recent years have ushered in a bumper harvest.

This winter, Zhou Qingqing was busy with the villagers in the planting base.

The prepared nutrient pack is neatly stacked and placed on the soil where morels have been sown. After a few months, the fine light white mycelium will wash out of the soil and cover the entire nutrient pack, and then return to the soil after absorbing nutrients. In the early spring of the coming year, many strong morels will be born.

Give up the media dream and return home to grow mushrooms

Zhou Buxiu, who was over half a hundred years old, was lying in bed, unable to take care of himself, and the constant pain made him feel that his life was extremely long.

"Some people say that ankylosing spondylitis is called an'immortal cancer', and when it is severe, it is like a vegetable." This is Zhou Qingqing's father Zhou Buxiu's long-term labor and pain, and it is deeply involved in the life of her daughter Zhou Qingqing. .

After struggling in the edible fungus industry all his life, what he worries most at this time is who can continue his career.

Garlic, peppers, and edible fungi are some of the specialty agricultural products in Jinxiang County, Shandong Province. Zhou Qingqing’s father is a well-known local "Mushroom King". It is precisely because of long-term hard work that his ankylosing spondylitis continues to worsen, leading to bed rest. Sorry.

Zhou Buxiu’s wife looked at her husband like a knife, and finally dialed the phone of her daughter Zhou Qingqing, who was far away in Beijing, saying, “Your father won’t let me tell you that he is in very bad health now, or the child will come back. Well, it’s not easy for the edible fungus industry to do it now. Dad has ups and downs all his life, and many things in the family need you."

Zhou Qingqing still vividly remembers this scene seven years ago.

In May 2014, the most difficult choice was presented to this young man, Zhou Qingqing stayed up all night.

Her father tried countless times to persuade her to return to her hometown to participate in the edible fungus industry, but he failed to make her daughter "change her mind."

Six months ago, Zhou Buxiu talked about his expectations to Zhou Qingqing, "You have your media dream, but you see our hometown is getting better and better. Our rural area is also a big stage. The agriculture industry is still worth doing. Come back, kid."

"My father needs me, and my hometown career needs me. Although I have a media dream, after doing a good job in agriculture, I can also write my life in another way." Zhou Qingqing's faith became more and more firm.

That night, Zhou Qingqing made up her mind: go home!

On the second day, Zhou Qingqing quit her work in the media she loved, bought a train ticket, and returned to her hometown in Jinxiang County, Shandong from Beijing, which carried her media dream. She picked up this heavy business and became a "mushroom farmer." , Opened the dream of a new farmer.

From loss of millions to headwind

“When I worked in Beijing, I put on makeup and stepped on high heels every day. After I returned to my hometown, I would spend time with the soil in the greenhouse every day.” Zhou Qingqing was not used to the strong contrast brought by returning home, but she understood. In agriculture, front-line experience is the most precious.

  House seemingly endless rain.

At the beginning of 2015, the yellow enoki mushroom market shrank sharply, merchants stationed in Murakami stopped receiving the goods, and all yellow enoki mushrooms were facing a slow-moving situation.

"When dealing with fungus farmers all the year round, you can't watch the fungus farmers' harvest this year ruined in the ground." Zhou Qingqing, who had just returned home after discussing with his father, decided to buy all the fungus farmers' yellow enoki mushrooms.

"At the end of the receipt, we also ran out of money, so we owed money to collect."

Although Zhou Qingqing used the pickling method to extend the shelf life, hoping to pass the unsalable period and open the market again, the yellow enoki mushroom market still shows no signs of recovery throughout the year.

Facing the situation where no one cares, Zhou Qingqing fell into despair.

"It is conservative to say that he lost more than six million yuan that year. The industry that his father had struggled for his entire life had just reached his own hands and he had such a big loss."

"Each industry has a cycle, and the yellow enoki mushroom may really have entered a trough. The old road can no longer be gone, we have to find a way, the key is innovation." The young Zhou Qingqing "newborn calves are not afraid of tigers", she kept telling herself, Don't fall down as soon as you encounter a setback, you have to take the fungus farmers down.

"Yellow Flammulina is not working anymore. Can we explore other varieties and create new breeding techniques." Zhou Qingqing sorted out several edible mushroom varieties that her father had tried before but failed, and studied their advantages and disadvantages.

After having a general direction, Zhou Qingqing embarked on the road of investigation and study in many places across the country, and selected a few relatively high-quality varieties through investigation and research to carry out planting research.

"Morels, morel ears, monkey brain mushrooms, and yellow mushrooms have all become the focus of my research. Slowly the positioning has become clear, and it is placed on rare edible fungi."

"The market price of rare edible fungi is relatively high, tastes good, nutritional value is high, and it is relatively easy to sell. The only thing we need to solve is the technical problem, so that we can grow it well and form mass production, so that the mushroom farmers can also have a better Income." Zhou Qingqing said.

It was also the morels selected by Youzhong that became the first bucket of gold that Zhou Qingqing led the mushroom farmers after the "falling down" of the yellow Flammulina velutipes, and the edible fungus industry in Jinxiang came back to life.

Write innovation into genes and lead villagers to "pump gold in the soil"

Dare to innovate is written in the genes of Zhou Qingqing's generation of new farmers.

"It seems that the time to get out of the slow-moving quagmire is very short. In fact, my father has studied for more than ten years before this, but it has been in a state of failure. I tried again on the basis of the original." In Zhou Qingqing's view, Only daring to innovate is the password to get out of the predicament.

Sichuan is the birthplace of morels, Zhou Qingqing packed his bags and went to Sichuan; Yunnan has an advantageous geographical location and the wild bacteria are widely distributed, so Zhou Qingqing went to Yunnan.

Along the way, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shanxi, and Shaanxi have become Zhou Qingqing’s annual research destinations, learning from others’ successful experiences and lessons from others’ failures, and transforming everything that can be used into her own results.

In order to restore the vitality of the edible fungus industry in Jinxiang, Zhou Qingqing went all the way and learned all the way.

In the constant running, Zhou Qingqing formed three effective new technologies of warm shed, cold shed and understory cultivation, and made the technology more mature in practice.

"The warm shed can control the temperature in the shed, shorten the growth cycle of morels, and produce mushrooms off-season; cold sheds produce mushrooms in season, but they can create a good growth environment for morels by controlling the temperature; understory technology It uses the unique characteristics of the forest system to imitate wild cultivation." Zhou Qingqing said, "I usually follow the big guys on the base. Three new technologies have also become the guarantee of the harvest these years."

The harvest is good, and more and more people from Jin village come to the planting base to work.

As the planting experience became richer and the technology more and more proficient, some villagers boldly told Zhou Qingqing, "You plant this is very good, can I also plant it with you?" Then the villagers also rolled up their sleeves. , Contract several greenhouses to grow mushrooms together.

When the harvest season came, many villagers responded, "It's better than my part-time job!"

The villagers went from employment to entrepreneurship.

Zhou Qingqing said, "Everyone has learned the technology and earned money, forming a virtuous circle, hoping to lead the villagers to dig out the'gold' from the land." In her view, only by rooting in the grassroots and in the land can we be good farmers. New farmers are new farmers who apply new technologies and new ideas to traditional agriculture and obtain greater gains.

Clicking on Zhou Qingqing's WeChat is different from most of the post-90s friends who share food and beauty. Almost every post and repost of Zhou Qingqing is related to edible fungi.

"Growing Mushrooms" has been integrated into Zhou Qingqing's life, and her love for career allows her to see a bright future as the media dream from "Growing Mushrooms".

At the end of 2021, Zhou Qingqing is busy again, and there are many dreams to be realized in the new year.

"Seeing that many new farmers are doing live broadcasts and short videos, I also hope that more people can see our edible fungus and make it become popular." "Now many farmers are not short of money, but lack of money. Technology, farmers need not only rich pockets, but also rich brains. I want to continue to strengthen the cultivation of farmers, and I also want to attract more energetic young people back to my hometown to start a business together, and I want more new farmers to build their hometowns together. "In the new year, I also want to build a small morel village revitalization museum to showcase the entrepreneurial mentality, knowledge of morel, and the significance of cultivation, so as to promote the continuous progress of growers."

Zhou Qingqing's media dream did not end by becoming a new farmer.

In Zhou Qingqing's plan, one was placed in the near future.

"I want to make a documentary about my dad, not only to record my dad, but to record their generation of mushroom edible people, record their persistence and hardship, love and perseverance for edible mushrooms, and give our generation more. Inspiration."
