According to information from the FAZ, Michael Brigl will be the new head of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Germany in January.

The workforce was informed about the personnel on Wednesday afternoon.

The 47-year-old business economist will succeed Matthias Tauber, who - as reported in September - will be promoted at the turn of the year and will be responsible for the regions of Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East in the future.

As the future European boss, Tauber was able to choose his successor at the top of the German business himself.

Brigl has been working for the Boston Consulting Group since 2005, he was made a partner in 2013 and a senior partner in 2020.

Like his predecessor Tauber, he works in BCG's Munich office.

For 15 years he has been looking after private equity clients and advising investors on company acquisitions.

Sales in this division have more than doubled in the past three years.

In his new role, Brigl will be responsible for the BCG business in Austria, Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in addition to Germany.

After studying business administration in Regensburg, Brigl started his career in the consulting division of the auditing company PwC in London.
