The first train of the China-Laos Railway (Chengyu-Vientiane) international train arrived at Mohan Port on the 9th, marking the speed and efficiency of the new western land-sea corridor.

The reporter learned from the Land-Sea New Corridor Operation Co., Ltd. that since its opening, the influence of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor has continued to expand, driving multiple industries between Chongqing and ASEAN countries, and becoming the "artery" of economic and trade exchanges between Chongqing and ASEAN countries.

 Drive multiple industries

"Automobiles, chemicals, food, Chongqing's import and export trade with ASEAN countries is expanding year by year." Huo Jiasong, secretary of the board of directors of the Luhai New Corridor Operation Co., Ltd., said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency that the Western Luhai New Corridor has promoted the development of many industries. .

Taking the Chongqing automobile and motorcycle industry as an example, Huo Jiasong said that up to now, the total value of motorcycles and spare parts in the new land-sea channel is about 9.5 billion yuan (RMB, the same below), and the container volume is about 47,000 TEUs, of which 2021 The value is about 3.65 billion yuan, and the container volume is about 19,000 TEUs.

"We mainly export light industrial products, consumer goods, and import Southeast Asian ore, rubber, rice, etc., and we have extensive cooperation." said Ouyang Bing, chairman of China Logistics Group Huamao Railway Operation Management Co., Ltd., and these cooperations have stimulated many of the two parties. The development of the industry also brings a lot of opportunities to enterprises.

The relevant person in charge of the Port and Logistics Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government introduced that ASEAN has become Chongqing's largest foreign trade partner for two consecutive years. The cooperation between the two parties has promoted the development of the automobile and motorcycle, light industry, food and other industries.

  Continuously increase speed and efficiency

The first trial train of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor was launched on May 10, 2017.

Previously, the export mode was river-sea combined transportation. Compared with the Yangtze River water transportation channel, railway transportation has timeliness and stability.

Huo Jiasong introduced that the railway transport distance from Chongqing to Beibu Gulf Port is 850 kilometers shorter than the river transport distance from Chongqing to Shanghai. The sea-rail combined transport channel from Chongqing to Beibu Gulf Port to ASEAN is shorter than the river-sea combined transport channel from Chongqing to Shanghai to ASEAN. More than 2100 kilometers, the whole transportation time can be shortened by more than 10 days.

On December 3, the China-Laos Railway was officially opened for operation, which once again pressed the "accelerator" for the new western land-sea channel.

Huo Jiasong introduced that before the opening of the China-Laos railway, Laos was a "land-locked country". The goods from Chongqing to Laos were mainly transported by road and land transportation, which was expensive.

After the opening of the China-Laos railway, Laos has become a "Land Union", and the freight time from Chongqing to Laos will be shortened to 3 days. Goods can also be transferred to Thailand or Vietnam by this railway, which greatly reduces the transportation cost of enterprises and the efficiency of freight transportation. Also greatly improved.

In addition, in the construction of software facilities, the Western Land-Sea New Corridor is based on specific practices, relies on railway container trains, and connects to the global maritime network. At present, it has formed a full service model of "one commission, one insurance, one order to the end, one settlement".

A set of data has witnessed the development and growth of the new land-sea channel: On September 25, 2017, the rail-sea intermodal train realized normalized transportation. Since then, it has realized normalized transportation at least once a week. In 2017 (all year, the same below), it will operate 47 There are 609 trains in operation in 2018, 923 trains in 2019, and 1126 trains in 2020.

The "14th Five-Year Plan" to promote the implementation of high-quality construction of new land-sea corridors in the western region mentioned that by 2025, the volume of rail-sea combined transport containers will reach 500,000 TEUs, and cross-border railway trains will reach 2,000.

Liu Wei, director of the logistics and operation organization center of the new western land-sea channel, introduced that Chongqing has “one main, two auxiliary and multiple nodes” (with the main urban area of Chongqing as the main hub, Wanzhou and Fuling as auxiliary hubs, Qianjiang, Changshou, Hechuan, Qijiang, Yongchuan, Xiushan) The hub system, which is an important node, has fully opened the new land-sea route trains, and the assembly of freight and trains from the northwest region to Chongqing has also been normalized.

In addition, on the basis of rail-sea combined transport trains, cross-border highway shuttles, international rail combined transport and other transportation methods have been continuously improved.
