  The Paper learned from CNOOC on December 10 that the first core process module of the Canadian LNG (liquefied natural gas) project built by CNOOC Engineering Company was completed and delivered at the Qingdao site. The project achieved the first core process module pipe addition in the world. The integrated and joint construction of corridor modules has created a number of new processes and new technologies, marking that my country's LNG modular plant construction capacity has reached the international advanced level.

  The Canadian LNG project is jointly invested and constructed by multinational energy companies. It plans to build 4 production lines. The first phase of the project plans to build 2 production lines with an annual output of 13 million tons of LNG.

After the project is completed and put into production, it will supply liquefied natural gas to China and other major Asian consumer markets, which is conducive to the diversification of my country's natural gas import channels.

The Canadian LNG project is another super-large LNG core process module construction project undertaken by COOEC after successfully delivering the world's first polar LNG project (Yamal Project) in 2017.

  CNOOC Engineering Company undertook the construction of 35 modules in the first phase of the Canadian project. The contract amount is about 5 billion yuan and the contract period is 33.5 months. The work includes all 19 core process modules with a total weight of about 178830 tons, which is equivalent to 3 worlds The weight of the steel structure of a tall building, Burj Khalifa.

The module delivered this time is a public core process module, composed of three main decks, 37 meters high and 5465 tons in weight, and is mainly responsible for the pretreatment of raw gas.

After the first module is delivered, it will be shipped and transported to the project site in Kitimat Town, British Columbia, Canada for on-site installation.

  Different from the traditional pipe gallery and core process modules designed and built separately and docked at the production site, this project realizes integrated construction for the first time, which can greatly increase the degree of project integration and reduce the workload of on-site installation and construction by half. It is more conducive to the overall construction period control of the project.

But this also poses challenges to construction technology, large-scale equipment resource conditions, and dimensional accuracy control.

Project manager Zhuang Hongchang introduced that during the implementation of the project, CNOOC Engineering Company adopted large-tonnage deck double-system jacking technology and modular transport vehicle assembly technology, and innovatively applied a number of technological innovations such as super-large structure hoisting and 4D visualization construction. Significantly enhance the integrated construction capacity and level of super-large LNG modular plants.
