Autumn grain purchase market is stable and orderly

  Our reporter Liu Hui

At present, my country has fully entered the peak season for autumn grain purchases, and the overall progress of autumn grain purchases is smooth.

The reporter learned from the press briefing held by the State Bureau of Grain and Material Reserves that as of December 5, various grain companies in the main producing areas had purchased a total of 131 billion jin of autumn grain, which was roughly the same as the average level.

Qin Yuyun, director of the Grain Reserve Department of the State Bureau of Grain and Material Reserves, said that it is necessary to coordinate market-oriented and policy-based purchases, firmly hold the bottom line of farmers’ “growing grain and sell it” to ensure a stable and orderly autumn grain purchase market.

At present, the acquisition progress of the three varieties of rice, corn and soybeans is different, and generally presents the characteristics of "slightly faster rice, slower corn, and flat soybeans".

The main producing areas have accumulatively acquired 40.3 billion jin of mid-late indica rice and 36.2 billion jin of japonica rice, which are both faster than last year; the cumulative purchase of soybeans is 2.3 billion jin, which is the same as last year; the cumulative purchase of corn is 52.2 billion jin, which is slightly slower than last year. Reach the average level of the same period in recent years.

Qin Yuyun believes that the slower pace of corn acquisition is the result of the superimposition of various factors.

First, the harvest time of corn in parts of Northeast and North China has been delayed by 10 to 15 days compared with previous years; second, there have been many large-scale snowfalls in Northeast China recently, and the spread of epidemics has caused certain food purchase and sales activities in some areas. Impact; thirdly, farmers who grow grain now have better food storage conditions and want to wait and take a look; fourthly, the peak corn purchase season will last until the end of April next year, and it is expected that the later purchase progress will be further accelerated.

Since the opening of the scale, the purchase price of autumn grain has been generally stable.

The rice market has sufficient supply, and the purchase price has always been stable.

With the gradual increase in the market volume of mid-late rice, prices in some areas have fallen below the minimum purchase price level.

In order to protect the income of farmers from growing grain, six provinces including Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, and Heilongjiang have initiated the purchase of mid-to-late rice paddy markets, which has played a better role in supporting policies.

At present, the average purchase price of mid-to-late indica rice and japonica rice in the main producing areas is about 1.33 yuan and 1.36 yuan per catty respectively, which is basically the same as the opening price.

The average purchase price of corn is about 1.27 yuan, of which, the North China region is about 1.35 yuan, and the Northeast region is about 1.24 yuan, both of which are slightly higher than the open scale price.

Since the opening of domestic soybeans, the purchase price has risen slightly, and the current average purchase price is around 3.02 yuan, which is about 0.1 yuan higher than the opening price.

"Domestic soybeans have gone out of independence, and they have risen a lot since last year, opening up a larger price gap with imported soybeans, which will help farmers increase their income and protect their enthusiasm for growing grain." Qin Yuyun said.

Affected by the continuous rainy weather in autumn, the moisture content of the harvested grains in some areas this year is relatively high, and the quality is at risk of declining.

All localities have strengthened grain post-production services to help farmers ensure safe grain storage and ensure farmers' income from growing grain.

Hebei guides farmers to adopt various forms of ventilation, drying, cooling and precipitation; Inner Mongolia actively calls on farmers to clear the snow and downfalls, and issues guidelines to guide farmers to ensure food safety; Liaoning issues emergency notices to in-depth investigation of the grain purchase and quality situation; Jilin organizes technical personnel Entering villages and households, helping farmers to clear snow and ventilate, choose sticks, and implement point-to-point guarantees for towns and villages with heavy "landing" habits and high security risks; Heilongjiang prepares 240.8 billion kilograms of storage capacity, and raises 127 billion yuan in acquisition funds , To ensure the needs of autumn grain collection and storage.

What needs attention is that since this year, relevant departments at all levels have done their best to ensure food supply and stabilize the market. In the case of frequent fluctuations in international food prices, the domestic market has always maintained a good situation with sufficient supply and stable operation.

Corn shows a good situation of "double increase" in production and imports.

Corn production increased by 23.8 billion catties. In the first 10 months, the import volume of corn and its substitutes, sorghum and barley, reached 44.35 million tons, a record high. The relationship between supply and demand for corn has been further improved.
