As efforts toward the realization of a carbon-free society are required, it was found that the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by domestic companies last year was reduced by more than 20% compared to FY2013.
In order to accelerate efforts for decarbonization, Keidanren has compiled a total of carbon dioxide emissions compiled by 58 industry groups.
According to this, the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by domestic companies last year, including the amount emitted from the use of electricity, was reduced by 22% compared to FY2013.
Carbon dioxide emissions by domestic companies have continued to decrease year by year since 2013, and in 2019 it was reduced by 11% compared to 2013, but last year the spread of the new corona infection greatly restricted corporate activities. It is a form in which the amount of decrease has expanded because it was done.
Keidanren has formulated an action plan as a business community for the realization of a carbon-free society, and is calling on each industry to make further efforts.
