2000 new companies join DMCC since the beginning of 2021

Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO and CEO of DMCC, revealed that the total number of new companies that have joined the center since the beginning of this year has exceeded 2,000 companies so far.

Bin Sulayem indicated, in statements on the sidelines of a press meeting held today, that the increase in the turnout of new companies to join the center during the current year, which is one of the positive indicators of recovery from the effects of the pandemic, contributed to raising the total number of companies in the center to reach more than 20 thousand companies. .

He explained that the companies that opened their businesses in the center included categories related to the fields of renewable energy, oil and gas, and others related to artificial intelligence and the development of electronic games programs, in addition to companies in the fields of "blockchain" and "cryptocurrency".

He added that the DMCC currently includes 2,000 companies specialized in the fields of energy and renewable energy, and more than 4,000 companies specialized in the jewelry sector.

Bin Sulayem stated that the center made a contract to supply coffee beans to the Nicaraguan pavilion at the "Expo 2020 Dubai", in quantities up to 400 kilograms per month, pointing out that the center is currently conducting talks that have reached advanced stages for the supply of coffee during the coming period to the Congo pavilion in the exhibition. "Expo".

And he indicated that Dubai currently accounts for 60% of re-exports of tea at the global level, noting that the coffee storage center in Dubai includes the best coffee storage and processing facilities according to international standards and standards.

He stated that the center is currently studying new areas for halal meat trade, with the aim of re-exporting it, and that the location of the new center is expected to be near the Jebel Ali Free Zone, where an agreement has been reached with some companies specialized in meat from Australia in this field.

He pointed out that the center is looking into opportunities to include trading contracts for new currencies, such as the Brazilian real, the Mexican peso and the Turkish lira.
