25th of last month, after a pastor couple in their 40s who visited Nigeria was confirmed to have been infected with Omicron, concerns about a serial infection are gradually spreading.

Following the man in his 30s of Uzbekistan nationality who rode the same car as the pastor and his wife, the man's wife, mother-in-law, and acquaintances were all three additional confirmed cases.

In 9 days, the number of confirmed cases of Omicron mutation has increased to 9, but it does not end there.

This is because all three additional confirmed cases attended a church service in Michuhol-gu, Incheon two days before they were confirmed.

At that time, close to 800 believers, including worshipers at the same time as well as those attending the same time period, are waiting for the results of the Corona 19 test.

So far, there have been 13 cases of suspected church-related Omicron.

In addition, four people, including a woman in their 50s who were in the restaurant used by the confirmed patients, were also confirmed for COVID-19 and are checking for infection with the mutant virus, so the possibility of community spread is not small.

Fortunately, the patient with Omicron is either asymptomatic or has mild symptoms.

In the case of the pastor and his wife's family in their 40s, who were the first to be infected, it was reported that their physical condition was not bad, with only symptoms similar to a cold.

However, it is still too early to be reassured.

[Jung Eun-kyung/Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Since the investigation is still ongoing on these aspects such as contagiousness and severe severity, we will apply more strengthened quarantine measures for about two weeks and implement them…

As concerns about the spread of Omicron grew, the government made it mandatory for all overseas travelers from yesterday (3rd) to 16th to quarantine for 10 days.
