The line starts from Kunming in southwestern China in the north, passes through Yuxi City, Pu'er City, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in the south, and passes through the Mohan Railway Port in China and Boding, Laos. The railway port enters the northern region of Laos, and finally arrives at Vientiane, the capital of Laos.
[Explanation] After the opening of the China-Laos railway, the fastest from Kunming to Xishuangbanna is 3 hours and 24 minutes, and the fastest from Kunming to Pu'er is 2 hours and 46 minutes.
In addition to the port clearance time, passengers can get from Kunming to Vientiane in about 10 hours at the fastest.
