The reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission on December 1 that the supply of energy and power in the five provinces and regions in the Southern Power Grid region is steadily improving, and the average number of days available for coal storage in power plants is more than 20 days.

In order to strengthen the guarantee of energy and power supply, the National Development and Reform Commission strengthened overall planning and coordination, coordinated dispatching in different provinces, continued to track and supervise the progress of key tasks, actively coordinated and solved problems and difficulties reported by the local government, and achieved initial results in energy supply.

The supply of energy and power in the five provinces and regions of China Southern Power Grid, including Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, and Yunnan, is steadily improving.

In 2021, a total of nearly 200 million tons of medium and long-term coal contracts have been signed, realizing full coverage of medium and long-term coal contracts for power generation and heating. The average available days for coal storage in power plants are more than 20 days, and more than 30 days in Guangxi and Guizhou.

The scale of unplanned outage units and output-hindered units is lower than previous years, the output level of coal-fired power units has been effectively improved, and the power supply has been strongly guaranteed, laying a solid foundation for local economic and social development.

The National Development and Reform Commission stated that in the next step, it will continue to increase its efforts to guide and urge local governments to further increase coal production and supply, increase the level of coal storage in power plants, and increase the output of generating units to ensure a stable and orderly supply of energy and power.
