A strike movement by employees of the port of Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) resulted on Tuesday in the blocking of the entrance to the city at the Quai Colbert.
A union representative quoted by 76 Actu reported 400 people mobilized to carry out this action.
This was to last "a good part of the morning," he said.
The roadblocks caused significant traffic difficulties.
Difficult traffic for cars and buses
Traffic jams have been created in the sector concerned, where the traffic of some buses has also had to be diverted.
The strikers had already expressed their dissatisfaction a week earlier.
They intend to denounce the dangerous deterioration of their working conditions and the increase in overtime.
They also demanded hiring to compensate for the departures of employees and to expand the port's workforce.
