Emirates SkyCargo transports "Dibba Bay oysters" to Moscow

The Emirates Air Cargo Company, the arm of "Emirates Airlines" for freight, announced that it transports daily between 500 and 700 tons of food products on its planes around the world, which vary between fresh fruits and vegetables and cheese, as well as transporting fresh seafood, especially oysters, from the United Arab Emirates. And it stated in a statement today that the Emirati startup Dibba Bay Oysters, based in Fujairah, has been cultivating luxury oysters in the waters of Dibba Bay since 2016, and is currently harvesting about 200,000 oysters every month.

According to the statement, "Dibba Gulf oysters" exports about 50% of its production abroad, at a time when "Emirates Air Cargo" transports the exports of this oyster from the UAE to Russia, which is currently the largest market for "Dibba Gulf oysters".

Emirates Airline Senior Vice President of the Department of Shipping, Nabil Sultan, said, "(Emirates Air Cargo) is pleased to help transport this distinguished product grown in the Emirates to some of the most important international oyster markets such as Russia," pointing out that air freight plays an important role. In the rapid transport of such time and temperature sensitive food items from the farm to the table of the final consumer all over the world.


He added, "We transfer the fresh harvested (Dibba Bay oysters) in the morning to the tables of Moscow restaurants in the evening of the same day, and we are looking forward."
