This came during the launching ceremony of the training program for building national specialized competencies for financing small and medium enterprises and government procurement (KSP), in cooperation between the UAE and South Korea, and which comes within the framework of the agreement signed between the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance in September last year.

A statement issued yesterday stated that the six-month intensive training program is an important opportunity for all the national participants to make the most of the Korean experience in marketing their products and innovations in the local and foreign markets, and to transfer knowledge on how to overcome the challenges facing the entrepreneurship sector and small and medium enterprises. The program will enable more than 15 male and female citizens, representing 12 federal and local entities concerned with the entrepreneurship sector, small and medium enterprises and government procurement, to reach common recommendations that are appropriate to the business environment in the country by benefiting from the Korean experience.

Al Falasi pointed out the Ministry of Economy's keenness to continue its efforts in cooperation with its partners at the federal and local levels to achieve the goals of the "50 projects", enhance the competitiveness of the business environment in the country, develop the entrepreneurship sector and small and medium enterprises, and increase its contribution to the gross national product.

For his part, the head of the Korean team at the KSP Program, Wong Seop Zain, said that the program contributes to strengthening relations and cooperation between the UAE and Korea by providing the best Korean experiences from many Korean authorities and institutions, which confirms the importance of this program in strengthening cooperation relations. The program includes three main objectives, the first is to establish an institutional framework for financing small and medium companies, while the second goal is to strengthen the system of institutions for financing small and medium enterprises, while the third goal focuses on introducing the government procurement system to develop the sector companies.
