On the third and final day of the 12th International Chambers of Commerce Conference, Dubai hosted the “World Chambers of Commerce Awards Ceremony”, as the World Federation of Chambers announced the winners of the 2021 World Chambers Competition.

The Director General of Dubai Chamber, President of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Hamad Buamim, and First Vice President of the International Chamber of Commerce, Maria Fernanda Garza Merodio, handed over the prizes to the winners during a special ceremony held within the conference.

According to a statement issued yesterday, the 2021 edition of the competition received 78 initiatives from 33 countries, to compete in four categories.

The “Lima Chamber” won the “Best Digital Project” award, which is given to rooms that have developed innovative digital solutions related to customer services, while the “Luxembourg Chamber” won the “Best Resilient Project” award, which is given to rooms that presented flexible and innovative initiatives to deal with the repercussions of the “Covid” pandemic. -19.”

The “Best Project for a Better Climate” award went to the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce in England, which presented the “Low Carbon Project” which aims to transform the Lancashire region of England into a profitable, low-carbon economy through unlimited support for companies, to launch, review and implement Emission reduction plans.

In turn, the Potsdam Chamber in Germany ranked first in the “Best Unconventional Project” category, which is presented to rooms that have developed unique projects that are not related to their daily goals and tasks, in order to increase the provision of job opportunities to boost local economies, as the Chamber launched the “Shofi” application. » Dedicated to entrepreneurs under 20 years old, to teach students the main foundations of successful entrepreneurship.

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of a special award to the "Federation of Chambers and Commodity Exchange" in Turkey, in return for its contribution to providing visas and accommodation to a group of the International Chamber of Commerce from Afghanistan, to travel to Istanbul.
