The Tohoku Electric Power Group and NTT East signed a cooperation agreement on the 26th, and decided to cooperate in disaster response and management of electric wires and communication cables.

This is the first cooperation agreement between companies responsible for power and communication infrastructure in Japan.

This was announced on the 26th by Tohoku Electric Power, Tohoku Electric Power Network, a group company, and NTT East Japan at a press conference in Sendai City.



According to the press conference, when a disaster occurs in the future, Tohoku Electric Power and NTT will share the images taken by their respective drones to check the damage information and cooperate in the restoration work.



In addition, regarding the management of electric wires and communication cables buried underground, we will switch the communication method, which was mainly fax, to NTT's web system, and promote efficiency by responding to road construction.



The areas of cooperation are the six prefectures of Tohoku and Niigata prefecture, and this is the first agreement in Japan between companies responsible for power and communication infrastructure.



Kojiro Higuchi, president of Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc., who attended the press conference, said, "I think that cooperation with NTT will contribute to the local residents."



In addition, Masahiro Takizawa, General Manager of the Miyagi Division of NTT East, said, "We would like to collaborate with the three companies that support social infrastructure and use our know-how to contribute to a safe life in the region."
