The yield per mu of double-cropping rice in Jiangxi with 1166.1 kilograms of ratooning rice hit a new high

  The more than 600 acres of contiguous planted varieties in the demonstration area are "Yongyou 4949" and "Yongyou 4149". The regeneration season grows neatly and the grains are full.

The expert group randomly selected three fields, and the whole field was cut and inspected. The average yield per mu in the regeneration season reached 462.7 kg, and the double-season yield was 1166.1 kg per mu, which created a new high-yield level in the regeneration season in Jiangxi Province.

  Since 2016, relying on the national key R&D project, the Jiangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences’ ratooning rice team has been connected to Shi Heqing, a large planter in Yangwan Village, Cailing Town, Duchang County, and through the construction of bases to drive demonstrations and cultivate new types of business entities. The output level of the regeneration season has increased year by year, from the initial 280 kg to 462.7 kg in 2021. The double-season output level has also successfully exceeded the “ton of grain” from the initial less than 850 kg. In 2021, a high yield of 1166.1 kg has been achieved. , The demonstration drive effect is remarkable.

  The expert group believes that the ratooning rice model has the advantage of "two harvests, four highs and four provinces", which is a good model that farmers are willing to accept. Axillary buds, large population differences in the regeneration season, low heading rate and other technical problems are worthy of demonstration and promotion on a large scale.

  It is reported that the project team combines the basic technology model of regeneration and high yield and efficiency with the resource characteristics of different ecological areas, and integrates the "two rice and three ducks" model of ratooning rice, the model of fertilizer saving and medicine reduction of ratooning rice, and the technology model of ratooning rice-taro rotation. It further improves the annual economic and ecological benefits of the ratooning rice model, and promotes the regional adaptive transformation of technological achievements.
