The retail price of regular gasoline has fallen for the second straight week, reaching a national average of 168.7 yen per liter.

On the other hand, the price decline was 0.2 yen, which is still the highest level since 2014.

According to the Petroleum Information Center, which is commissioned by the government to investigate gasoline prices, the retail price of regular gasoline as of 22nd this month was 168.7 yen per liter on average, down 0.2 yen from last week.

The retail price of regular gasoline has fallen for the second straight week.

This is because crude oil future prices fell slightly last week due to widespread belief that demand for oil, which had been on an upward trend, would once settle down due to the re-expansion of the new coronavirus infection in Europe and elsewhere. The reason is that the wholesale prices of oil wholesalers have dropped.

However, it is still at the highest level since 2014.

On the other hand, the over-the-counter price of kerosene is the same as last week at 1950 yen per 18 liters, which is the highest level since 2008.

Regarding the future outlook, the Oil Information Center said, "The cooperative release of oil reserves by the United States, China, India, Japan, etc. can be a factor in temporarily easing supply and demand, but oil-producing countries have repelled. There is also a view that production will be reduced. It is necessary to pay close attention to the future supply and demand situation. "
