Tesla continues its ascent with the Cybertruck, an electric truck.

According to Electrek, the American manufacturer has already received more than 1.2 million reservations.

An order volume equivalent to nearly 80 billion dollars, that is to say 71 billion euros.

However, the armored vehicle, which has met with some success with several police departments around the world, is not yet in production.

This, which was to start in 2021, will not be launched until the end of 2022.

The futuristic-shaped electric pickup was a huge success from its launch in November 2019, with more than 250,000 orders shortly after its presentation.

A figure that had not run out of steam, unlike the evolution of orders for other Tesla products after their launch.

Reservations to be confirmed

Between June 2020 and November 2021, the number of Cybertruck reservations almost doubled, from 650,000 to 1,270,000.

Versions of the model with two or three electric motors were preferred by future buyers.

The Cybertruck has an average cost of $ 58,000, or approximately € 52,000.

His reservation is subject to a security deposit of 100 dollars, or 89 euros, a fairly modest sum that impatient buyers could easily sacrifice in the event of a further delay in production and therefore in delivery.

Tesla will indeed have to deal with the shortage of semiconductors essential to the manufacture of the vehicle.
