The Federal Tax Authority confirmed that benefiting from the facilities of the mechanism for redefining tax administrative fines, equal to 30% of the total unpaid fines before the date of June 28, 2021, is specified with a time limit, and that the tax registrant who is eligible to benefit from these facilities must perform all procedures related to them through the portal Electronic services on the authority’s website, no later than December 31, 2021, to be able to benefit from these facilities.

The authority explained, in a statement issued yesterday, that after December 31, the registrant, who was subjected to administrative tax fines before June 28, will not be able to enjoy the re-determination feature, and he will be required to pay the full fines owed on him instead of only 30%.

And it called on the qualified registrants, who were imposed on tax fines before June 28, to expedite the procedures for redefining these fines, so that only 30% of the total unpaid fines are paid, according to Cabinet Resolution No. (49) of 2021 amending some provisions of the decision. Cabinet No. 40 of 2017, regarding administrative fines imposed for violating tax laws in the country, which came into force as of June 28, 2021.

The Federal Tax Authority stated that the new decision set three conditions that must be met, in order to benefit from the redefinition of administrative fines, imposed before June 28, 2021, on those registered for tax, equal to 30% of the total unpaid fines, explaining that the first condition is that the administrative fine has been It was imposed on him by Cabinet Resolution No. (40) of 2017 before the date of June 28, 2021, and it was not fully paid, and the second condition is that the registrant has paid the full tax payable on him, up to a maximum of December 31, 2021, meaning that he should not have any dues The third condition is the payment of 30% of the total unpaid administrative fines until June 28, 2021, with a maximum of December 31, 2021.

She indicated that when the registrar fulfills these conditions, the authority will re-set the administrative fines to equal 30% of the total unpaid fines, and it will appear on the authority's electronic system in 2022.
