China News Agency, Kunming, November 24th (Miao Chao, Zhang Weiming and Xu Zhangwei) On the 24th, professional and technical personnel tested the mobile communication signals of the China section of the China-Laos Railway.

The test results showed that the quality of voice communication throughout the journey was stable, and mobile, telecommunications, and China Unicom users’ mobile Internet access rates were basically up to standard, marking the realization of mobile network coverage on the China Section of the China-Laos Railway.

The Yuxi to Mohan section of the newly built China-Laos Railway is more than 500 kilometers long, with 93 tunnels and 136 bridges, with a bridge-to-tunnel ratio as high as 87.3%.

Limited by many tunnels and long bridges, it is difficult to achieve mobile network coverage.

In this regard, China Railway Kunming Bureau Group, together with operators such as China Tower and China Mobile, will start construction in March this year to build mobile communication network coverage.

"A communication base station needs to be built every 500 meters along the railway. 80% of the new sites are located in the original rainforest "no electricity zone". Many places can only use the most primitive people to transport materials and equipment." China Railway Electrification Bureau Zhonglao Railway Dou Xiaogen, the person in charge of the public network project, said that they have overcome difficulties along the route such as complex terrain conditions, variable weather, long lines with multiple points, and inconvenient transportation, and completed the construction tasks on schedule.

It is reported that, in order to meet the continuous network coverage, the tunnel adopts a field plus double leaky cable coverage method, and more than 180 base stations are newly built outside the tunnel, which effectively guarantees the continuous network coverage.

The China-Laos Railway is more than 1,000 kilometers in length, starting from Kunming, China in the north, to Vientiane, Laos, in the south. It consists of the Chinese section and the Lao section.

After opening to traffic, Kunming to Vientiane is expected to achieve direct transportation and same-day access.
