[Rural Revitalization] Nanchang New Construction: Fermentation of straw turns into organic fertilizer

After the autumn harvest is over, how to deal with the scattered stalks has become an issue that the government cares about and farmers worry about. The new district in Nanchang, Jiangxi vigorously promotes the application of stalks to fertilizers, base materials, and feeds, turning waste into treasure, and stringing up ecological agriculture. Circular chain.

In the early winter, I walked into the vast fields of the newly-built area. Large machinery was shuttled back and forth in the harvested rice fields. In just a few minutes, circular straw bales were spit out from the big mouth of the machine.

The compacted and bundled straws are scattered in the field and become a new landscape after the harvest.

In the storage center not far away, farmers are busy arranging the baled straws neatly, preparing to make organic fertilizer.

In a local straw comprehensive utilization and processing base, two production lines for the production of green feed and organic fertilizer are operating at high speed.

On the green storage feed production line, the fresh rice straw is crushed and then added with specific strains. Once it becomes a standard cattle and sheep feed, it can be stored for a long time.

On the organic fertilizer production line, workers mix straw and manure in a ratio of 1:1, add strains after high temperature treatment, and conduct aerobic fermentation for about 10 days to become a qualified organic fertilizer.

The existing grain sown area in the new district of Nanchang City is 1.317 million mu, with an annual output of about 800,000 tons of crop straw.

In 2021, the new district will actively integrate and raise funds of 217.55 million yuan. On the basis of the original 10 socialized straw collection and storage organizations, a new 100,000-ton-level straw comprehensive utilization deep processing plant and two straw primary processing collection and storage warehouses will be built.

Through the gradual improvement of the construction of the straw collection, storage, transportation and marketing system, the comprehensive utilization rate of crop straw in the entire region is expected to reach 92% in 2021.
