• In the Hérault region, the Multi-business Employers Group (Gemme) promotes timeshare among companies, a hiring tool that is still not widely used.

  • The employee only signs one contract, and has only one employer, the Gemme, who then makes his talents available to several companies.

  • A tool that is useful for SMEs, which do not necessarily have the means and needs to hire a full-time person, and for employees, who seek diversity in their work, but also a stable job.

Employees, what if you split your time between several companies, signing a single contract? In the Hérault, the Group of multi-business employers (Gemme) promotes time-sharing, a hiring tool that is still not widely used in France. The employee signs only one contract, a long-term CDD or, more often, a CDI, with this associative structure: it will be his only employer. Le Gemme then makes its talents available to several companies.

"Many companies do not necessarily have the means or the workload sufficient to be able to hire a full-time employee on their own," explains Barbara Atlan, director of the employers' group.

A dead end that sometimes blocks the growth of companies.

"If you need a communications officer, but you can only offer him 12 hours of work, either because there is no more work than that, or because you do not have the means to pay a 35-hour contract, without this job, impossible to develop your visibility, continues Barbara Atlan.

Timeshare is a solution to this problem.

"

"This helps to retain an employee"

To use this device, however, the company must have “recurring needs”. “This is not temporary work,” points out the director of Gemme. "Through the interim, you are not sure that you always have the same employees", explains François de Cazenove, president of Gemme and boss of the electricity company Item, in Jacou, who uses the device. . “This helps to build employee loyalty,” he continues. And finding a part-time contract for a company is not easy. Not everyone agrees to work part time. It is not enough to live. "As for the cost, it is" under control ", assures Barbara Atlan. “The small supplement that companies pay is only there to ensure the functioning of Gemme, which is a non-profit structure. "

Sébastien Gleyze, director of Sud Fromages, a wholesaler based at the Montpellier National Interest Market, is in the process of finalizing the hiring of an employee via Gemme. This entrepreneur, who has already tried to hire via Pôle Emploi or the interim, sees timeshare as a “give and take” system. "When you are an SME, you do not necessarily have the means to hire a person at 35 hours straight away", notes Sébastien Gleyze. And it is also, he says, an opportunity for the employee to have a stable job. "The employee, who combines several companies, acquires a diverse experience, which can be profitable, also, for the company", he confides.

For the employee, continues the director of Gemme, this device is a way "to escape the routine, while keeping the security of the CDI or the CDD of long duration.

Many employees seek diversity in their work.

"" What I like is changing business, getting out of the daily grind, "confirms an employee who benefits from this device.

Launched just before the health crisis, Gemme currently brings together 10 to 15 member companies in the Hérault, and has already won over six employees.
